Job Description

The Role:

The role of the Production Team Lead is to oversee the duties of the production team, provide accurate business information, and ensure compliance to the Quality, OH&S, Environment and Inventory management procedures. The role will lead from the front and foster a strong culture and positive work ethic as an example for all employees to follow.

Tasks:

  • Ensure all employees under your control are always suitably attired and fit for duties before the commencement of work.
  • Chair pre-start meetings and assign task to individuals. Supervise workforce and define team objectives.  
  • Assure the consistent quality of production and notifying Production Manager & Quality Coordinator of any defective product.
  • Ordering or advising when Raw material stocks fall below minimum stock levels.
  • Filing and maintenance of source documents as required
  • Ensure Quality Assurance documentations are completed and maintained in accordance with (Quality Management System (QMS) manual requirements. 
  • Operate set up and adjust all production machinery in plant
  • Ensuring safe operation of all production lifting equipment by yourself and others on the shift
  • Assist in the provision of training to your skill set or in conjunction with other employees, supervisors/trainers.
  • Complete weekly cycle counts of products and report numbers back to the production manager.
  • Participate in Monthly stock takes when required.
  • Reporting or correcting required adjustments to production equipment.
  • Ensuring safe and accurate lubrication method of production equipment.
  • Actively assist in fault finding of process faults.
  • Co-ordinate production scheduling with production manager and sales team.
  • Oversee production staff regarding, understanding their roles and responsibilities in quality, safety & environment.
  • Embrace a sense of area ownership

  • Self-starter and ability to work with routine supervision.
  • High work ethic, practical, action orientated person.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (preferable).
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management and external contacts.
  • Zero tolerance to workplace bullying and discrimination.
  • Competency to operate a overhead gantry crane (Preferable)

Must hold valid working rights in Australia and provide proof /identification if required/requested
