The Role
Civilmart has an exciting opportunity for a driven and highly motivated Civil Estimator
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely quotations/proposals per Civilmart's design principles and methodologies
- Identify value-adding options to achieve Civilmart's vision.
- Providing smooth, timely, and comprehensive handovers to internal clients pre- and post-award for estimated projects.
- Manage client's expectations before order by understanding the project value and the external status of the project.
- Working with Project Coordinators to provide accurate and relevant information at the handover stage to ensure a continuous and open flow of information.
- Estimate costs to manufacture and supply products following the company’s manufacturing processes and methodologies and provide clients with an accurate quotation on the scope of work.
- Reading and interpreting civil plans and any other relevant detailed drawings to convert into data for the generation of pricing and shop cards based on company methodologies.
- Accurately transfer information between internal information sheets and workings, civil plans, drawings, and details into company information systems.
- Liaising with the Business Development Manager(s), Project Coordinators and Drafters to understand their needs and offer solutions that add value to the customer.
The client ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar position (essential)
- Previous experience working in Infrastructure, manufacturing, and construction (desirable)
- Previous experience working with the Electrical, Communications or Drainage (desirable)
- Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Hands-on experience in managing detailed, multi-faceted projects
- A proven ability to accurately calculate materials, labour and time for complex projects
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to streamline the estimating process and support the company’s growth
- Willingness to adapt to changing requirements and grow within the team
