We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team in Homebush. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role plays a key part in managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all supplier payments and reconciliations.
About the Role:
As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for processing high-volume creditor invoices, managing payment runs, reconciling supplier accounts, and providing support for both month-end and year-end reporting. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate financial records, and support process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, coding, and approvals.

Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs in line with company policies.

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Provide accurate AP reports, reconciliations, and cashflow forecasts for month-end and year-end.

Maintain supplier master data and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Respond to supplier and internal queries with professionalism and efficiency.

Support internal and external audits, as well as process improvement projects.

Provide guidance and training to the Accounts Payable Officer within the team.
What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a large organisation with high transaction volumes.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and multitask.

Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial record management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and intermediate Excel skills.

Experience with accounting software (JDE experience desirable).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
