Position Overview
Based at our Larapinta site, the Transport Dispatch Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and directing all transport and despatch functions to ensure the efficient and timely distribution of products. This is a hands‑on leadership role, requiring active involvement in daily operations while overseeing the broader logistics function. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the manufacturing or construction industry and demonstrate strong communication, organisational, and people‑management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Liaising with Branch Production and other Internal/External Sales staff
Coordinating transport carriers and couriers and customers to coordinate delivery times
Booking in freight and planning delivery allocations
Raising orders for transport and verifying invoices charges
Compiling a weekly transport cost summary
Load planning
Coordinating Branch forklift operators in daily yard activities
Assisting in supervision of loading and unloading of trucks
Responding to email and phone enquiries from customers
Obtaining freight quotes for Customer Service staff and customers
Issuing picking slips to forklift drivers and completing invoices of delivered goods
Coordinating all incoming materials and goods to Branch
Inventory management in conjunction with the Branch Manager and Production Manager
Organising stock transfers between other company Branches
Ensure all staff and transport Contractors comply with their legislative responsibilities and our safety standards,
Process & confirm all goods received and despatched including transfers of goods, despatch KPI’s, drivers hours, loading rates, Reload rates and order completion rate
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
Experience working in the manufacturing/industrial industry
Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
Forklift Licence (desirable)
Qualifications in transport, logistics or supply chain (desirable)
Strong focus and awareness of safety procedures and protocols
Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment
