You know that person who sees a manual process and physically can't leave it alone? The one who builds a formula before anyone's even finished explaining the problem? The one who gets genuinely excited when two systems finally talk to each other?
Yeah. We're looking for you.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We need a People Systems & Experience Manager who's equal parts spreadsheet wizard and systems nerd, someone who lives to automate, optimise and make things work better for everyone.
This is a critical role sitting within our HR team, reporting to the HR Director. You'll own our people technology ecosystem, drive automation across the full employee lifecycle, build dashboards that actually get used, and be the person who makes our HR function smarter, faster and more connected.
You won't just maintain systems. You'll reimagine them.
This role is hybrid with reasonable travel to our sites nationally. We operate across 32+ manufacturing sites, six states, and multiple business units, so the complexity is real, the problems are interesting, and the impact you'll have is tangible.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Own and optimise our HRIS ecosystem (ELMO)
- Find every manual workaround, clunky process and duplicate data entry point, and kill it
- Build automated workflows, dashboards and reporting that give leaders real insights, not just data dumps
- Partner with system owners across finance, payroll, IT and operations to make sure our platforms actually talk to each other
- Lead system rollouts, upgrades and new module implementations
- Design and deliver people analytics and reporting frameworks using Excel, Power BI and ELMO
- Improve the employee and manager experience across onboarding, lifecycle touchpoints and self-service
- Expand our digital footprint, both internally and externally
- Support compliance, audit readiness and data governance across all people systems
- Be the go-to person when someone says "there has to be a better way to do this"
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU...
- Get a kick out of turning a messy spreadsheet into something beautiful
- Can work autonomously, manage your own diary and deliver without being chased
- Take initiative, you don't wait to be told what needs fixing
- Understand that "good enough" is the enemy of great
- Can translate complex system problems into simple solutions that people actually adopt
- Want to build something, not just maintain it
- Thrive in a role where no two days look the same
- Have the confidence to challenge the status quo and the emotional intelligence to bring people along
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Solid experience in people operations, HR systems or HR shared services
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (ELMO is a big plus)
- Advanced Excel skills, and we mean advanced (pivot tables, Power Query, macros, the works)
- Experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI
- A track record of process improvement and automation, not just talking about it, doing it
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- The ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously without your head exploding
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Information Systems or similar
Bonus points if you've worked in manufacturing, multi-site environments, or have experience with payroll systems, ERP platforms or SOX compliance.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A genuinely supportive HR team who will back you
- The autonomy to own your work and run your own show
- A role with real variety, from system builds to site visits to board-ready reporting
- The chance to make a visible, lasting impact on how ~1,000 employees experience work every day
- Part of CRH, a global Fortune 500 company, so you get the scale and the support
