About the Role
Based at our Mittagong site, Civilmart is seeking two (2) Production Team Leadersresponsible for leading and supporting production employees to ensure the safe, timely and accurate manufacture of concrete products that meet customer, quality and operational standards.
This hands‑on leadership role focuses on safety, quality, productivity and people leadership. You will guide your team in the setup and operation of production equipment, ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OHSE requirements and operational procedures, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily toolbox talks addressing safety, production planning, quality and maintenance matters
Ensure all team members are fit for duty and comply with OHSE, GMP and Safe Work Instructions (SWIMs)
Monitor pre‑operational equipment checks and ensure safe, efficient operation of plant and machinery
Actively promote safe work practices, correct manual handling techniques and consistent use of PPE
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all production areas
Oversee mould assembly, stripping, lubrication, vibration processes and basic product repairs where competent
Verify completion of in‑process quality checks, identify non‑conformances and support corrective actions
Lead by example through professional conduct, strong work ethic and hands‑on involvement
Provide on‑the‑job training, coaching and mentoring to new and existing team members
Monitor production targets, labour efficiency and plant utilisation
Report production, quality or plant issues to the Production Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, output and cost performance
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Valid forklift licence (desired, not mandatory)
Proven experience in box culvert production within a precast concrete manufacturing environment
Experience working in concrete manufacturing or a heavy industrial setting
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
Strong understanding of OHSE principles and safe work practices
Ability to read and interpret basic technical and product drawings
Experience conducting or overseeing in‑process quality checks
Hands‑on, practical and action‑oriented approach with a strong work ethic
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to coach, direct and motivate teams in a respectful and professional manner
Additional Requirements
Must hold valid working rights in Australia
Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical assessment, including Drug & Alcohol screening
