Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused State Sales Manager to lead and execute the NSW Sales Strategy and drive sustainable revenue growth across the state.
This pivotal leadership role is responsible for managing and developing a high‑performing team of Sales Representatives, strengthening relationships with key existing customers, and identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will play a critical role in expanding Civilmart’s market presence, improving customer acquisition, and achieving ambitious financial and growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the NSW Sales Strategy in alignment with annual business objectives
Translate the NSW Sales Strategy into clear goals and KPIs for Sales Representatives
Lead, coach and manage a high‑performing NSW sales team to achieve and exceed targets
Drive revenue growth, market penetration and profitable margins across the state
Forecast sales performance and report on trends, opportunities and risks
Build, maintain and expand strong relationships with key existing and new customers
Provide sales advice including pricing, quotations, contracts and payment terms
Collect and share market intelligence on competitors, projects and industry trends
Support contract administration and tender processes, including negotiations and risk assessment
Ensure accurate and timely management of sales documentation and contract conditions
Promote collaboration between Sales Representatives, Customer Service and Branch Managers
Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows and customer meetings

What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong sales leadership, commercial acumen and relationship‑building expertise.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within a similar or likeminded organisation
Strong background in construction, building or manufacturing environments
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate high‑performing sales teams
Experience developing and executing sales strategies and managing state‑based budgets
Exceptional negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong understanding of financial forecasting, margins and sales reporting
Highly developed organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels, internally and externally
Competency in Microsoft Excel and Office systems
Working knowledge of Sales, Finance and CRM reporting systems
