The Role:
IPA are seeking an experienced and practical Senior HSEQ Advisor to join our organisation on a permanent fulltime basis, based at our prefabricated steel reinforcement facility in Altona, Victoria.
This is a hands on, boots on ground role where the Senior HSEQ Advisor will be the direct point of contact for all health, safety, environmental and quality matters for the site. Ensuring that all safety related responsibilities are carried out by all personnel including site inspections and risk assessments.
This position will work very closely with the Altona Business Manager, Production Manager and the HSEQ Director to promote, encourage, and endorse safe workplace practices!
Key Responsibilities:
HSE
- Conduct inductions for subcontractors and new employees
- Conduct site audits of the HSE Management System (Skytrust)
- Assist with the preparation of site-specific Safety and Environmental Management Plans
- Investigate and report on safety incidents and hazards
- Monitor and assess the implementation and effectiveness of preventative safety actions
- Develop and communicate HSE information for pre-starts and toolbox meetings
- Provide ongoing HSE training and awareness to employees
- Develop, review and implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
- Provide advice and direction to management on safety and environmental matters
- Facilitate and support the Return to Work (RTW) process for injured employees
Quality
- Support the implementation, monitoring and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001 and ACRS certification requirements
- Liaise with external and internal auditors during audits and certification activities
- Conduct internal quality audits and report on findings, corrective actions and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure all QA documentation is completed, maintained and controlled in accordance with the Civilmart QMS
- Facilitate and promote the sharing of quality improvements, lessons learned and initiatives across the business
- Assist production teams with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation
- Provide advice and direction to Senior Management (Branch, State and National) on quality and compliance matters
- Monitor compliance with quality procedures, specifications and certification requirements across operations

The successful applicant will have the following:
- Experience working as a Senior HSEQ Advisor or in a similar position for a minimum of 2 years
- Experience working within the construction, manufacturing or industrial sector
- Demonstrated experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001 compliance, auditing and continuous improvement processes
- Qualifications equivalent to a Diploma or higher in WHS (desirable)
- Qualifications or formal training in Quality Management, Lead Auditing or ISO 9001 (desirable)
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external certification audits (desirable)
- A valid driver’s licence
- A current First Aid & CPR qualification
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
- Return to Work Qualification (desirable)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol Assessment
