We are seeking reliable and motivated Production Operators to join our Shepparton Pipes team. You'll work as part of a supportive production team manufacturing precast concrete products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

Job Description

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for a variety of production and manufacturing activities, including:

  • Operating and maintaining cage-making machinery, wire straighteners and reinforcing equipment.
  • Preparing, assembling, stripping, cleaning and maintaining moulds.
  • Pouring, rendering and finishing concrete products to required specifications.
  • Operating forklifts and other mobile equipment to safely move materials and finished products.
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Performing basic machine checks, cleaning and routine maintenance activities.
  • Conducting quality inspections and ensuring products meet Civilmart standards.
  • Completing minor repairs to products, moulds and equipment under supervision.
  • Maintaining accurate production and maintenance records.
  • Assisting with inventory control and material tracking.
  • Supporting housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organised and safe workplace.
  • Working flexibly across different production areas to support operational requirements.
  • Assisting with the training and development of new team members when required.
  • Reporting production, quality, equipment or safety concerns to the Production Manager or Leading Hand.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, production targets and a positive safety culture.

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, construction or a similar hands-on environment.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and teamwork.
  • Practical skills and confidence using hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing quality work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A reliable work ethic, punctuality and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work under routine supervision.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, reaching, walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work across different areas of the production operation.
  • A current Forklift Licence (highly desirable).
  • A current Driver's Licence.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
