Role Overview

Based at our Corbould Park site, Civilmart is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yardman / Forklift Operator to join our team.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the safe movement, storage and loading of concrete products, helping to ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and dispatched on time. Working closely with the Despatch Supervisor and Production team, you'll play an important part in keeping yard operations running smoothly while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and mobile plant to move, load and unload products.
  • Complete daily pre-start checks and inspections on forklifts and equipment.
  • Load customer orders accurately, ensuring correct products and quantities are dispatched.
  • Safely handle and stack products to prevent damage and maintain site safety.
  • Report equipment faults, maintenance issues and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Assist with the movement of products between production, storage and dispatch areas.
  • Conduct final quality checks on products prior to storage or dispatch.
  • Ensure delivery and dispatch paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain an organised yard and uphold high housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Assist with stocktakes and inventory control activities as required.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures and site instructions.
  • Support the Despatch Supervisor and wider team with day-to-day operational requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Must have valid working rights in Australia and be able to provide evidence of those rights upon request.
  • Current Forklift Licence is essential.
  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, dispatch or forklift operating role is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor, physically active environment.
  • Experience handling heavy or oversized products is highly regarded.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately.
  • Reliable, punctual and takes pride in delivering quality work.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Ability to identify and report safety, quality or equipment issues.
  • Sound communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and meet deadlines.
